The Amber Palace Jaipur is a beautiful structure made of red sandstone and marble, built on a hillside overlooking Maota lake. The Amber Fort and Palace Jaipur is in the beautiful town of Amer, 11 km to the west of Jaipur city and is a testimony to the grandeur of Rajputs along with the artistry of Mughals. It is one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites which has been part of ‘Hill Forts of Rajasthan’, drawing thousands of tourists every year.
It was located on Maota Lake with the lake being the main source of water for the palace that was situated on Cheel Ka Teela (Hill of Eagles). The best to visit the Amber Fort Palace is between October and March when its golden hue provides great contrast to Jaipur’s blue sky.
History of Amber Palace
Built-in 1592 by Raja Man Singh I, a trusted general of Mughal Emperor Akbar, the Amber Fort Jaipur India was constructed. Successive rulers added further expansions over the centuries and mixed these cultural influences that make the palace what it is today. Architecture of Amber Palace
